Stefano Pioli will remain in charge of Milan, while CEO Giorgio Furlani and chief scout Geoffrey Moncada will take a leading role in the transfer market following Paolo Maldini’s exit.

Maldini and sporting director Frederic Massara will leave the Rossoneri after a meeting with owner Gerry Cardinale on Monday. The club will announce the pair’s exit through an official statement today or tomorrow, reports Sky Sport Italia correspondent Peppe Di Stefano.

Multiple reports in Italy, claim Stefano Pioli will remain in charge in 2023-24, but the club won’t make new appointments to replace Maldini and Massara.

Giorgio Furlani was appointed as the new CEO at the end of 2022 and will have a more central role alongside chief scout Geoffrey Moncada.

Sky Sport highlights that Cardinale wants to change Milan’s organisation and no longer agrees with Maldini and Massara’s approach.

The Rossoneri’s owner wants to adopt an ‘American model’ strongly based on scouting and algorithms to sign young players, Milan Maldini demanded more investments and aimed to purchase some experienced players to strengthen the team next season.
