Milan’s questions about Brahim Diaz

Brahim Diaz’s future with Milan is growing increasingly uncertain, especially if the club pick up Charles De Ketelaere this summer.

The 22-year-old Spaniard had a fairly unconvincing season in Lombardy under Stefano Pioli, only scoring three goals and providing three assists as he struggled to make a strong impression in the Rossoneri’s Scudetto charge.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Milan signed Diaz from Real Madrid last summer on a two-year loan deal worth €3m, with a €22m buy option attached and a buy-back clause included set at €27m. The price is considered high by the Rossoneri management and they’re now starting to question the idea of making his stay permanent.

Should Milan sign a player like De Ketelaere this summer, there would be questions about Diaz’s role in Pioli’s squad next season. Some are concerned with the slow progress of the Spaniard’s development, so the club are now carefully considering their options and what the future holds for the 22-year-old.
