Milan’s Maldini a target for Verona, Spezia – report

Milan attacking midfielder Daniel Maldini is a summer target for Hellas Verona and Spezia, according to reports in Italy.

The 20-year-old has immense pressure on his shoulder at the Rossoneri as his legendary father Paolo and grandfather Cesare made a combined total of 1,312 appearances for the club.

Daniel made eight appearances for the Milan side which won the 2021-22 Scudetto, scoring one goal but has failed to nail down a regular starting place.

And Calciomercato.com report Verona have enquired about his services and Daniel’s father would consider it an interesting destination.

The report adds newly promoted Cremonese were in the running but have dropped out, with Spezia – against whom Daniel scored his first Milan goal – rivalling Verona.

Daniel made his debut in 2020 and has so far made 24 appearances in all competitions.

His grandfather Cesare, who played 412 times for the club, won four league titles and a European Cup. He later led Milan to Cup Winners’ Cup and Coppa Italia glory as manager.

Paolo played 902 times and won seven Serie A titles, a Coppa Italia, the European Cup/Champions League on five occasions, the Supercoppa five times, the UEFA Super Cup four times, the Intercontinental Cup twice and FIFA Club World Cup.
