Should Milan ultimately sell Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain, they are expected to delve back into the market.

Reports are speculating that a €65m offer from PSG for both Ibrahimovic and Silva has been accepted, with the transfer’s progression only waiting for Ibra’s go-ahead.

Late last night on his way out of Milanello, Adriano Galliani offered slight confirmation of this scenario when quizzed on the move: “You’ll know something in the coming hours.”

Subsequently, speculation has turned back to the Rossoneri and to their rumoured plans for replacing the duo at San Siro.

Manchester City duo Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko reportedly top the list of replacement strikers, closely followed by Mattia Destro. Tevez was the subject of intense negotiation between City and Milan in January and only saw a move to Italy fall through off the back of Alexandre Pato’s failed transfer out to PSG.

In defence, the money received for Silva could be reinvested in a number of positions, with centre-back targets identified as Vasco da Gama’s Dede and Cagliari’s Davide Astori and Man City’s left-back Aleksandar Kolarov rumoured to be another possible ambition.

Real Madrid’s Lassana Diarra is also mentioned as again in Galliani’s viewfinder.
