Reports as the season drew to a close were that, despite a minimal impact at San Siro, Milan were keen to make his move permanent, but only if the €15m purchase amount agreed last summer with Barca was dropped to €5m.

However, following on from rumours yesterday, Sky Sport 24 are running the line that Milan have made clear that their intention is to not sign 22-year-old.

Vice-President Adriano Galliani reportedly informed Barcelona President Sandro Rosell of the Italians’ decision yesterday.
