Stadio Olimpico, Rome. Capacity: 73,000 seats

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, circa 50% of fans at the Stadio Olimpico will support Milan tonight as Lazio fans have gone on strike in protest against Claudio Lotito.

The pink paper reports that around 12,000 of the 25,000 fans expected at the Stadio Olimpico tonight will support Milan, while the Curva Nord will be empty as Lazio ultras have gone on strike.

Most fans are unhappy with the club’s choice to raise the ticket prices for the game, although Claudio Lotito explained earlier this week that the decision is in line with what happened over the last few seasons. He also added that he was not bothered by fans’ protests as those who will go to the stadium would criticise him anyway.

The away fans section will be sold out with circa 9,500 Milan fans, while 2-3,000 more will be spread around the home sections. As La Gazzetta dello Sport points out, the game will be similar to a match played on neutral ground.

  1. Between this and the flu outbreak at Lazio, advantage Milan. Can we take advantage? I don’t have high hopes after the last month or 2.

  2. If we can capitalize on those advantages(flu+fans) I see us coming out victorious, like I will always say, never stop believing.
    Lazio 1:3 Milan
