Milan will reportedly reject Torino’s attempts to purchase Tommaso Pobega outright and instead bring him back to base.

The midfielder turns 23 next month and spent this season on loan with the Granata, where he scored four goals and provided three assists in 33 Serie A appearances.

Toro had been eager to make the move permanent, hoping to use Gleison Bremer as part of the deal, but instead Sportitalia and Calciomercato.com both maintain the plan is to bring Pobega home to San Siro.

He is a product of their youth academy and also had impressive loan spells at Ternana, Pordenone and Spezia.

Pobega’s current contract runs to June 2025, but this could be extended by one or two years to reassure him that he is part of the project.

Now that Milan are in the Champions League for the second season running and are fresh from winning the Scudetto, they need to bolster their options.

Franck Kessie is already leaving as a free agent to join Barcelona, while Tiemoue Bakayoko will probably be returned to Chelsea after another unsuccessful loan spell.
