“I can only say that Witsel is a player we like a great deal, but at this moment we are not in negotiations for him as a potential signing,” Vice-President Galliani told O’Jogo.
“Is he too expensive for the Rossoneri funds? This is not something I intend to talk about.”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic raised eyebrows on Friday by stating that Milan had no money to sign big players.
Witsel’s price-tag is thought to be in the region of €25m and he is also of interest to Real Madrid, PSG and Chelsea.
