Milan are seeking a replacement for Franck Kessie, but incredibly could bring him back because he and Andreas Christensen have a clause in Barcelona contracts allowing them to walk away if not registered by this weekend.

The midfielder refused to sign a new deal at San Siro and was therefore a free agent to sign for Barcelona this summer.

However, the Blaugrana’s serious financial problems mean they have not yet been able to register several of their new players until the overall salary bill is brought down, as it would violate LaLiga rules.

Now ESPN have a sensational report that there are clauses in the contracts of both Kessie and former Chelsea defender Christensen allowing them to walk away if Barcelona have not registered them by the time the first game of the season is played.

That is this Saturday against Rayo Vallecano, so time is running very short indeed.

As Milan continue to seek a replacement for Kessie, could it be possible for him to go back to the lucrative contract extension he had originally rejected?

Ultimately, the salary he had signed up for at Barcelona was very similar, the only difference being no massive commission for his agent.

As for Christensen, the former Chelsea centre-back had been linked with Inter and Milan before choosing Barcelona.

  1. Haha lol. Thanks but no thanks.

Thanks presidente for everything he gave us, but the ship has already sailed, the bridge has already been burnt, the pages has been turned. He already made his own bed and now he has to sleep in it.

  2. In the end, whether it is thru shady practices or not, they’ll all get registered. Same happened last season.

  3. This whole Barcelona situation is fascinating to watch. On the off chance that Kessie would walk away its hard to imagine it would be straight back to Milan.

  4. I would welcome him back to Milan. Even with his contract expiring, he gave full effort on the pitch and was a hugely influential player. Every player has bad games but Kessie was professional all season.

  5. @Putuco.

‘train wreck’ that is allowed to spend £160m on 3 players and offer superior contracts to bosmans. All the while not paying off wages of current and outgoing players. Seems a rather comfy operation to me.

Milan accepted a year out of Europe for what? FFP is a scam, and Barcelona are the latest club to prove its a scam. I’m still resentful we took the FFP decision on the chin instead of fighting it like the real scam artists that are PSG, Man City etc.

  6. Thats why im questioning this farcelona and farce ffp, they’re in big financial crisis and yet they keep signing high profile players and in the inside they also asking their players like Pique etc to lower their wages!!! what a ridiculous club really.

  7. Hahaha this is so ridiculous and it shown how fake FFP is, about Kessie so thank you since you rejected the same offer you accepted at Barcelona. Page is turned off.

  8. @DB Milan yeah, once it’s through, Barca will be saved, at least for this year.
I don’t see Kessie is coming back and I like it that way.

  9. I would take Kessie back if he gets rid of his agent.

And for Rosario’s reply with same thing happened last year LOL no they lost messi due this shady handling if la Liga doesn’t care about losing messi why would they care about Christensen and Kessie

  10. Its called silly season, and just about anything can happen. De Jong was steadfast on getting his back pay, maybe that’s been resolved or he has had enough ?

  11. They will get registered in the end almost definitely. Now if we had singed Sanches I’d be OK and couldn’t care less, but as it is I’d take Kessié back in a heart beat. None of the names circulating around after Sanches excites me and Kessié is hard af to replace even though he performed below his standard at times last season.

  12. @Acemilan
The back pay thing still isn’t resolved but I’m sure they can sort it out. Chelsea might even pay some or all of it, they are spending like crazy.

  13. That will sting for Man U if De Jong suits up for Chelsea !!!

Can’t wait to rub that into some of my Man U pals ! lol

  14. I’m not so sure this will happen. Barca will find a way by hook or by crook! If Milan were in this position we would have FFP all over us! The bias standards FIFA set are disgraceful. As a Milan fan I love The President but seeing him back at Milan I can’t see. He is more likely gonna end up in the Premier league if Barca can’t pay his registration.

  15. Dazziano, correct on all counts in the end I think. I do also agree with Milan Fan though, and would take him back at this point, and I think most Milan fans would too if it were possible for him to return. He did his job until the end and even scored in the title winning game and the ultra’s cheered for him. If the ultras did that, it will be OK if he comes back. I’d take Christiansen too if he wanted to come along…

  16. Can’t believe all the Milan fans moaning about how badly treated they were by UEFA and their FFP rules. Remember Milan were allowed to pick which season they missed out on European competition – they were initially banned from Europe for the next season but were allowed to bring it forward to the current season which meant they missed out on the Europa League, which they didn’t care about, instead of the far more lucrative Champions League.

So please, when Milan were allowed to dictate the terms of their punishment please don’t bleat about how hard done by they were.

  18. Let’s not all get excited and dreamy about bringing back Kessie. He had a contract proposal in his locker for a year. The only thing missing was his signature. He even promised he would sign. In the end, he made everyone a fool (yes even us fans) and did not sign. How do you bring back such a person? The optics would not be good. It would make our beloved technical department leadership weak, and it would in a way delude the other players that they can actually get what they want. The only terms that would dictate his U-turn should be on the salary of his expired contract, lose his current agent and get his head down. Period.

    Nobody is above Milan.

    Forza Milan.

  19. @Gi-Al-Lorossi
Before you start complaining about Milan fans moaning.. I think you are missing the point of what is being said.
It’s about FFP not doing or saying anything at all. Have they said Barcelona would miss any Champions league present or future?.. No.
