Brahim Diaz has convinced Milan of his qualities and the club will reportedly meet with Real Madrid soon to discuss keeping the Spanish talent.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder played a key role in the Rossoneri’s Champions League win over Tottenham, scoring the decisive goal after just seven minutes to give his side a good chance of progressing to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Diaz joined Milan on a two-year loan deal from Real Madrid in July 2021, a deal that contains a €22m buy option and a €27m buy back clause.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan want to keep Diaz, who himself wants to stay in the Lombardy capital, and they’ll meet with Real Madrid in the coming months to discuss a deal, possibly as early as next month.

The Rossoneri were initially planning to activate the €22m buy option but now are hoping to negotiate a slightly lower fee for the 23-year-old.

Diaz has scored five goals and provided two assists across 26 appearances this season for Milan.
