Roma and Milan have not discussed the option of swapping Maarten Stekelenburg and Marco Amelia.

The Dutchman is looking for a new club after losing the first-team gloves at Roma this season, while Amelia has never hidden his dream of returning to his hometown outfit.

“It’s just a rumour,” Carlo Pallavicino, the agent of the Diavolo custodian, is quoted as saying. “It is built on the player’s feelings for the Giallorossi.

“I’ve had no contact with Roma about a possible move for Amelia. And Milan would not consider his sale.

“However, even if Marco is happy in Milan, he wouldn’t say no to Roma…”

Amelia, 30, is tied to the San Siro giants until June 2015. He has featured in eight League games so far this term.

Milan have a goalkeeping decision to make in the summer as Christian Abbiati, 35, is only contracted until June.
