Multiple sources continue to report Milan have chosen Bologna striker Marko Arnautovic as the replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who will not renew his contract.

The club announced today that there will be a brief ceremony after the final game of the season against Verona to salute Ibrahimovic, as he will be leaving San Siro before turning 42.

Although there are also plans to bring in a younger striker, the Rossoneri still want a veteran who can fill Ibra’s role in the squad and the locker room.

It has been reported for months now that Arnautovic is the first choice and that is only becoming more and more obvious with Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia, MilanNews and more all confirming direct contact with his agents.

Arnautovic just turned 34 in April and is under contract until June 2025, so Bologna reportedly want €8m to sell the Austria international.

He had an excellent season until it was derailed by injuries, scoring nine goals in 20 Serie A appearances, but his rapport with coach Thiago Motta is frosty at best.
