Milan wait on Reijnders, closer to Taremi

Milan are said to be still waiting for a response from AZ Alkmaar on Tijjani Reijnders, but they are edging closer to Mehdi Taremi after FC Porto lowered the asking price.

The Rossoneri remain very active on the transfer market, as today Christian Pulisic underwent his medical and signed the contract to June 2027 after a €22m including bonuses move from Chelsea.

They continue to seek a midfielder to replace Sandro Tonali and a striker who can give Olivier Giroud some time off upfront.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Milan have not yet received a response from AZ Alkmaar following their most recent proposal for Reijnders, which was at circa €19m plus €4m in bonuses (or €20m plus €3m add-ons, depending on the report).

Meanwhile, transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio insists FC Porto have lowered the asking price for Iran international Taremi to just €20m.

Taremi turns 31 next week and is only under contract with Porto until June 2024, so the cost is still considered a little high in the circumstances.

He was also linked with Roma and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s Al-Hilal.

If Taremi did arrive, he would take up the only remaining non-EU spot in the Milan squad, therefore ruling out Samuel Chukwueze and Daichi Kamada.
