The Rossoneri remain favourites in these Milan vs. Spezia predictions despite suffering their second defeat of the season last weekend. The visitors have been in dreadful Serie A form and are without a win in their last five games.

Milan vs. Spezia odds

1 – Milan to win – 5/19

2 – Both teams to score – 6/5

3 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 8/13

4 – M’bala Nzola to score anytime – 5/1

5 – Rafael Leao to score first – 9/2

Milan look to bounce back from defeat in Torino last weekend and have the ideal opportunity as they host a struggling Spezia side. Luca Gotti’s team sit 16th in the Serie A table with just three points separating them from the bottom three, Defeat on Saturday could well drag them into the relegation zone.

Sunday’s shock defeat to the Granata was no fluke for the home side but saw arguably the worst Milan performance of the season. The Rossoneri were disorganised at the back, short of creativity in midfield and lacked a clinical touch up front.

Stefano Pioli will likely put this down to pre-occupation and rotation ahead of the Champions League game in the week, but it makes the visit of Spezia a must-win game. Fortunately for the hosts, anything other than a Milan win would be one of the shocks of the season and we back the hosts to confidently claim all three points.

That being said, Spezia may not be as easy an opponent as earlier in the season. The Aquilotti were unlucky to lose to Fiorentina last weekend and most likely would have earned a draw were it not for a second-yellow sending off for Dimitros Nikolaou.

Another boost for Luca Gotti’s side is that they appear to have broken their dry spell in front of goal, scoring six in their last four games in all competitions. This, combined with a weakened Milan defence, could well see the visitors offer a threat up front on Saturday.

The form of M’bala Nzola has been largely responsible for this uptake in goals, with the Angolan bagging two in his last three games. With five goals this season, the Spezia man currently ties Rafa Leao, Milan’s top scorer. The two forwards are our tips to score on Saturday, with the Portuguese winger looking to redeem himself after two poor misses against Torino.

As a result, a wager on both teams to score could well pay off, as may a punt on over 2.5 goals scored. The stats certainly back this up with five out of the last six games between the sides seeing three or more scored.

Milan team news

With an all-important midweek Champions League fixture, Stefano Pioli may be forced to rotate on Saturday. This could see Ante Rebic start instead of Rafael Leao whilst Divock Origi is expected to replace Olivier Giroud. Mike Maignan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Simon Kjaer, Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi all remain sidelined through injury.

Spezia team news

Viktor Kovalenko and Sione Bastoni remain long-term injury absences for the Aquilotti but the starting eleven should be much the same as the one that faced Fiorentina. A red card to Dimitros Nikolaou will force rotation from Luca Gotti though, with Pekto Hristov likely to step in.
