Milan fans are hurling abuse at Gianluigi Donnarumma ahead of tonight’s Coppa Italia game with Verona following transfer speculation.

The rapport with the goalkeeper had broken down over the summer when he rejected a new contract and was ready to leave as a free agent in 2018.

A group of Rossoneri supporters even threw fake dollars at him during Italy’s Under-21 European Championship game.

Donnarumma did eventually pen another contract, but over the last few days reports have emerged that he is unhappy again and wants to move on, potentially even annulling the contract for "psychological pressure" to sign it.

The message got through to the fans ahead of tonight’s Coppa Italia Round of 16 tie against Hellas Verona.

Although there are very few at San Siro for the game, Donnarumma’s name was jeered loudly when read out by the speaker and there were insulting chants aimed at him throughout the warm-up.

A group also lifted up a banner: ‘Moral violence, €6m per year and the signing of a parasite brother? Now go, our patience is finished!’

They were referring to the fact Milan brought in his brother Antonio – who is on the bench tonight – as one of the keys to keeping him at the club.

Footage also emerged before kick-off of captain Leonardo Bonucci trying to console a weeping Donnarumma in the locker room.
