The official Milan fan groups have announced they are boycotting next week’s Serie A showdown with Juventus in protest at ticket prices.

It is due to kick off at the Allianz Juventus Stadium on Sunday May 28 at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

This represents a head-to-head for the top four places, even more so if Juve are docked points on Monday in the capital gains scandal and slide down from second to eighth.

Despite it being a crucial crossroads for the Rossoneri’s season, they won’t have their ultras behind them inside the arena.

The Curva Sud and the Italian Association of Milan Clubs released a joint statement confirming they will not be attending the game and urged other Rossoneri supporters to follow suit in boycotting the fixture.

They criticised the cost of the away tickets, set at €80, and also protested at the hoops fans need to jump through in order to visit the Allianz Stadium.

It is hardly the first time, as several other clubs including Fiorentina also boycotted the match, complaining that they had to register with the official Juventus website in order to buy tickets.
