Milan are trying to work out a deal with Juventus for Merih Demiral, reports say, but it’s a complicated negotiation.

The centre-back joined the Bianconeri from Sassuolo for €18m this summer, but there have been suggestions they could look to make a quick profit on him.

Juve already have Giorgio Chiellini, Matthijs de Ligt, Leonardo Bonucci and Daniele Rugani as centre-back options, so the 21-year-old could struggle for playing time.

Milan, meanwhile, have lost Cristian Zapata and Mattia Caldara is still recovering from injury, so the Rossoneri are keen to make a move for Demiral.

This morning the Gazzetta dello Sport confirms the Diavolo’s interest, but warns that a deal will be difficult.

Juve want €35m for Demiral, but Milan want to take him on loan with an option to buy. That’s further complicated by the fact the Old Lady would want a counter-option to bring him back to Turin.

Relations between the clubs are excellent and talks are ongoing, but Juventus believe in Demiral’s potential and don’t want to let him go without an option to bring him back.

Milan’s alternative is Dayot Upamecano, but RB Leipzig are demanding €50m up-front, a price which would be out of the Rossoneri’s reach.
