Milan trust in Bartesaghi as Theo Hernandez backup – report

Milan are not planning to pick up a new left back in the final days of the summer transfer window, placing their trust in youngster Davide Bartesaghi.

The Rossoneri have been looking for buyers for Fode Ballo-Toure this summer and have been in talks with various clubs, including Bologna, Fulham and now Werder Bremen. Even if he is not sold, he is not expected to be a regular feature in Stefano Pioli’s squad next season.

Milan have considered picking up a new left back to replace Ballo-Toure but have now decided to focus their investments on a new centre forward, wanting some cover for Olivier Giroud.

As reported by TMW, Milan do not want to sign a new left back because they trust in teenager Bartesaghi, who joined the squad for their pre-season tour to the United States.

The 17-year-old Italian made 19 appearances last season for the Primavera side and has impressed Pioli, who is keen for him to start his integration into the first team.
