Reports in Italy claim Milan are interested in Udinese‘s Lazar Samardzic and Atlanta United FC’s Thiago Almada.

The Rossoneri are working to bolster Stefano Pioli’s option in midfield and on the wings.

According to Wednesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (page 26), the Rossoneri have set their sights on Argentina international Thiago Almada, currently under contract with MLS side Atlanta United.

The 22-year-old won the World Cup with Argentina in December and according to Gazzetta, it remains to be seen if the Rossoneri would try to sign him regardless of Daichi Kamada who has already reached a verbal agreement ahead of a free transfer to San Siro.

It may also depend on the future of Charles De Ketelaere who failed to justify his €32m price tag in his first season at Milan.

According to Tuttosport (page 16), Udinese’s Samardzic is another attacking midfielder on the Serie A giants’ agenda. The 21-year-old from Serbia had five goals and four assists in 37 appearances with the Friulani in 2022-23.

Meantime, Milan will not sign Aster Vranckx permanently, sending the 20-year-old back to Wolfsburg, while Reiss Nelson (Arsenal) and Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal) are their main targets for the right wing.
