Milan transfers: Ongoing talks with Chelsea in London, new Romero meeting

Milan director Giorgio Furlani was in London on Tuesday to finalise the signing of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea and continue talks for Christian Pulisic, while today he will meet the agent of Luka Romero.

The Rossoneri are already investing the money from Sandro Tonali’s sale to Newcastle and have secured the services of Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea. La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Corriere dello Sport report Furlani closed the deal on Tuesday in a meeting with Chelsea directors in London.

Furlani continued talks for Pulisic, but, as reported by CorSport (page 11), the Rossoneri don’t want to spend more than €15m, while the Blues’ asking price for the USMNT international is €25m.

Pulisic isn’t Milan’s only target for the right wing, given that the Rossoneri are in talks with Wolves’ Adama Traore and have set their sights on Samuel Chukwueze of Villarreal.

Furlani will return to Milan today, Wednesday, June 28, to meet Romero’s agent Fali Ramadani. Romero is expected to sign a five-year deal at San Siro, completing a free transfer after the end of his contract with Lazio, and today’s summit will serve to decide on the agent’s commission. Ramadani is also the representative of Ante Rebic, who has been put on the market by the Rossoneri and according to Tuttosport (page 16), the two parties will discuss the striker’s future today.

Milan are expected to sign one more central midfielder after Loftus-Cheek, and according to Gazzetta (page 5), both AZ Alkmaar’s Tijjani Reijnders and Valencia’s Yunus Musah are high on Furlani’s agenda. However, the USMNT international would fill the final non-EU spot available for the Rossoneri, preventing them from signing Chukwueze.

Meantime, their search for a new centre forward continues, with Gianluca Scamacca and Alvaro Morata among their priorities for the summer.
