Milan transfers: could Kessié’s Barcelona move collapse?

Barcelona have yet to announce the signing of Milan midfielder Franck Kessié because of financial issues.

The Ivorian midfielder reached an agreement with the Catalans a few months ago and is ready to begin a new chapter of his career at the Nou Camp.

He had rejected several contract extension offers from the Rossoneri before signing a four-year deal with the La Liga giants.

However, according to Sport.es, the Catalans can’t announce his signing and the same goes for Andreas Christensen, who is also set to move to Catalunya on a free transfer from Chelsea.

If La Liga started today, Barcelona could not include their new signings in the team. On paper, the deals are not supposed to collapse, but the same financial limitations caused Lionel Messi’s exit last summer after the Argentinean had agreed to sign a contract extension with the Blaugrana.

Barcelona must now free up wages and raise their incomes to have more resources and register both players in the team.
