Saelemakers joined the Rossoneri from Anderlecht in January and, despite initially struggling for game time, has amassed minutes in each of their three games since the restart.

The 21-year-old also ticks boxes for his age, versatility – given he can play as a right-sided defender or midfielder – and low price.

The same should also apply to Kjaer, who arrived in January like the Belgian.

The Sevilla-owned stopper has become Alessio Romagnoli’s first-choice centre-back partner and, despite turning 31 earlier this year, is valued for his experience.
