Milan will reportedly appoint Cagliari’s Mario Beretta as their new head of youth operations.

Filippo Galli has been in the role for the past nine years, but Gazzetta dello Sport expects Beretta to replace him, although the former Milan defender will be kept on in a different capacity.

The 58-year-old has extensive coaching experience in Serie A with the likes of Parma, Siena, Lecce and Brescia, although he has headed Cagliari’s youth sector since 2015.

He will work alongside Primavera Coach Alessandro Lupi, who replaced Gennaro Gattuso after his promotion to the first team.
