According to reports in Italy, Pietro Pellegri, Samu Castillejo and Andrea Conti are the three players who will be excluded from Milan‘s Champions League squad list.

The Rossoneri will release their squad list this evening, but Stefano Pioli’s choices are quite clear already, according to multiple reports.

Sky Sport and Calciomercato.com report that new signing Pietro Pellegri is likely to remain out of the squad for the group stage of Europe’s elite competition.

Andrea Conti and Samu Castillejo are also expected not to be included in the squad list as they are not in Stefano Pioli’s plans.

Conti returned from a loan spell at Parma and Castillejo was close to joining Getafe in the summer, but the La Liga side signed Jakub Jankto from Sampdoria instead.

Milan have been drawn with Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Porto in the Champions League Group B. They will play in Europe’s elite competition for the first time in seven years.

They were eliminated by the Colchoneros in the round of 16 in 2013-14 and played their last Champions League game so far at the Estadio Calderon.

  1. Why have a photo of Romagnoli? No pics of Conti, Samu, etc? Very misleading. I was worried at first that he would be 1 of the 3 being omitted.

Glad to see he had no relevance to the article whatsoever.

  2. @Nick It’s not so much to show Romagnoli as it was meant to show the # 13, indicative of the bad luck AC Milan had to be lumped with the other three teams.

  3. i came looking to read the article thinking it was romagnoli. that would have been a shocker if it was him left out. that would be a serious slap in the face by milan

  4. @JuveFan True about 17 in Italy, but Football Italia is based in the U.K. where triskaidekaphobia is common. ^_^

@Burky 17 is seen as VIXI which from Latin means “my life is over”.
