Milan are reportedly ready to give Simon Kjaer an increased salary to tie the Dane down to a two-year deal at San Siro.
The Rossoneri are close to reaching an agreement with Kjaer over a new contract and La Gazzetta dello Sport reports the club is prepared to give him a reward for his performances in Milan.
The 32-year-old’s yearly salary will reportedly be increased from €1.2m to €1.5m a season at the Diavolo, according to the newspaper.
Kjaer, capped 113 times by Denmark, arrived from Sevilla in January 2020, initially on a six-month loan deal.
But the centre-back’s performances at San Siro earned him a permanent move to the club in September 2020 and he helped Milan secure second in Serie A and a return to the Champions League the following year.
Kjaer’s current contract expires in June 2022, but the Dane seems set to sign a new deal with the Rossoneri very soon.
Kjaer is top player a real gentleman who puts a lot of today’s oney grabbing players to shame,
He always gives 100% and never moans,
He’s definitely worth 1.7m salary.
Deserved. A real player and a man. Nothing but respect for him.
He deserves a proper rest before the season starts. Like pretty much the entire squad, he suffers from niggles etc, which meant missing quite a few games. Hopefully we end up having a better season when it comes to injuries. Kjaer will be a massive part to everything good that we hopefully end up doing on the pitch. I don’t think money is an issue when it comes to class acts like him.
