On from a major rift between Milan and Fondazione Fiera, the company which owns the land for the stadium, there have been no contacts for almost a month.
In addition, the paper reports of doubts entertained by Berlusconi about the price and the times of the project, which he reportedly voiced to his partners at Milan and at Fininvest.
Incoming investor Bee Taechaubol is apparently not too convinced either, as he is believed to prefer a stadium with a larger capacity than the intended 48,000 seater.
A meeting between Milan and Fondazione Fiera President Benito Benedini is planned for the end of September. The target is to reboot the sluggish project.
Should the meeting fail, the possibility that Milan may abort plans for a new stadium in the near future are real.
Matters are further complicated by the delays in the sale of the club.
Berlusconi is planning on selling 48% of the shares of Milan to Mr Bee. The deal has already been defined down to the details and it was meant to be settled around the end of August.
However according to La Gazzetta, the new deadline for the payment is now September 30.
