German sources claim that Bayern Munich have asked after defender Fikayo Tomori, only to be told by Milan he is not for sale.

The centre-back just turned 26 last month and his contract with the Rossoneri runs to June 2027.

He is currently out of action for at least another six weeks after suffering a tear in his thigh, but this does not distract from the Bayern Munich interest, which is fuelled by director of sport Christopher Freund.

However, Sky Sports Deutschland also note that any transfer is very unlikely, especially in the January transfer window.

That will not stop the German giants trying again over the summer, when the Rossoneri might be a little bit more receptive.

A Chelsea youth academy product, Tomori joined Milan initially on loan in January 2021, making the move permanent in June that year for €31.6m.

Despite being a key part of the Milan defence in Serie A and the Champions League, Tomori has been largely ignored by England manager Gareth Southgate.
