The January transfer window is fast approaching and Milan are in the midst of an injury crisis, missing the likes of Lucas Biglia, Giacomo Bonaventura and Mattia Caldara for several months.

With this in mind, and UEFA considering further sanctions over Financial Fair Play, the Italians are looking for loan deals.

It’s reported the main objective in the Chelsea squad is Fabregas, as the 31-year-old midfielder will be out of contract at the end of the season anyway and has repeatedly been linked with a move to San Siro.

The former Barcelona and Arsenal man has made only nine appearances for the club in all competition this season.

There are other players who could also be of interest to Milan, such as centre-back Cahill, who turns 33 next month and is also going to be a free agent come the summer of 2019.

Cahill made only six competitive appearances this season, with just one 21-minute spell in the Premier League.

Christensen is a valuable investment at the age of 22 and only recently extended his contract, but is not getting much playing time at Stamford Bridge.

He was already sent on loan to Borussia Monchengladbach and could go on another temporary assignment.
