Fabio Capello admits that Milan need ‘strong Italian players’ in their team, but 16-year-old wonderkid Francesco Camarda still isn’t ready for a senior Azzurri call-up.

More and more Italian fans want to see promising young players debut for the national team, and Camarda surely is one of the most exciting talents in the country.

Despite that, ex-Milan coach Capello feels the 16-year-old still needs time before making his international debut.

“Camarda still needs time. He can’t make a triple jump from Serie C to the national team,” Capello told Gazzetta.

“I hope he does well with Milan Futuro and then with the first team. Milan need strong Italians, but young players need time to develop with calm.”

Camarda is currently playing for Milan Futuro, the Rossoneri’s second team playing in Italy’s third division Serie C, but was called up for the latest Serie A game against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico before the break.
