Milan sweat over Leao’s fitness ahead of Atletico Madrid clash

According to Sky Sport Italia, Rafael Leao is not fully fit and could start on the bench against Atletico Madrid tomorrow.

The Portuguese winger has started Milan‘s last 17 games. He trained with the rest of the team this morning but warmed up separately from the rest of the group.

Sky Sport Italia reports Leao was really tired and had cramps after the match in Florence against Fiorentina on Saturday.

Stefano Pioli must cope without Ante Rebic who could remain out of action for a month, so the coach would be short of options on the left if Leao doesn’t start tomorrow.

According to the report, Olivier Giroud will start in the Milan attack at the Wanda Metropolitano with Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the bench.

Alessio Romagnoli and Simon Kjaer will get the nod in centre defence as Fikayo Tomori is not travelling with the team and could return against Sassuolo on Sunday.

The former Chelsea defender is dealing with a slight hip injury.
