According to multiple reports in Italy, Zlatan Ibrahimovic could miss Saturday’s derby clash against Inter as he still feels pain at his tendon.

The Swede was forced off the pitch in the Rossoneri’s last match before the break against Juventus on January 23.

He didn’t undergo an MRI scan the day after and returned to Milanello the following Wednesday when the Rossoneri staff assessed him.

He has been working at Milanello over the last week, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Stefano Pioli may be forced to cope without the 40-year-old for the next crucial match against Inter.

Ibrahimovic still feels pain, so Pioli and Milan‘s staff will make a decision regarding his availability only a few hours before the kick-off.

Sky Sport Italia confirms Ibrahimovic hasn’t yet recovered from his injury.

However, the striker will make everything he can to be available against the Nerazzurri when Serie A resumes on Saturday.

  1. He won’t play against Inter. Give him recovery time and get his fitness back to a good level so he can help out in the remaining games.

  2. This is getting stupid lots if Acm blogs seem to be about a 40yr old players injuries & how long the recovery times will be

not sure what they expected when they signed him history sure tells us that older players get injured more often and take much longer to recover
Maybe they thought he would be like Ronaldo

a club like Acm should not be dependant on Ibra
I would not extend his contract and get one of Scamacca Raspadori or Berardi any one of these is a far better option than seeing injury prone Ibra limping off in games and taking weeks to recover

  3. I think everyone has forgotten where we were. We signed him to score goals and bring in a winning mentality. We have gone from CL being a distant dream to getting there. Did he do it all. NO, was he partly responsible for making players accountable and changing their mentality, yes sir .
Ibra is a lot more than just balls in the net. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and I will say I share the frustration. But IBRA is LEGEND, please try and keep that in mind.
    Cheers and GLTA

Well said. Not all of us have such short memories. Half the squad, the young lads in particular, have referenced Ibra as being responsible for them upping their game.

  5. A mid 20s Sheva, #1 hitman in Europe, scoring goals for fun, striking fear in the hearts of the best defences. Being Mr. Obvious here but never has been one like him since and don’t see it happening anytime soon.

  6. Ibra has done wonders for Milan these past two seasons. Now it’s time for Milan to take the next step and for him to probably call it quits. He’s almost always injured. For the derby I say start Rebic if fit and then bring in Giroud if we were desperate for a goal.

    @ Dollarumma

Sheva was one of a kind, competing with the original Ronaldo as the best striker around in his prime. Good times.

I hoped Rebic would start up front in the last game and I would definitely start him against Inter. We just can’t count on Ibra or Giroud to play two games in a row.
