Milan have submitted an offer for Red Star forward Marko Lazetic, who is being brought in to replace Pietro Pellegri.

The 20-year-old Italian forward will return to Monaco after no agreement was reached with the Rossoneri, before joining Torino. The Milanese club have therefore moved quickly in order to immediately have a replacement lined up.

As reported by Tuttomercatoweb, Milan have offered Red Star €5m for the 18-year-old Lazetic, wanting to sign him outright this month. Interestingly, Torino had followed the Serbian teenager for a while before diverting their attention to Pellegri.

Lazetic, who is contracted to Red Star until 2024, has scored one goal in 17 appearances for the first team, showing his potential in a number of substitute appearances. He would likely fit well into Stefano Pioli’s young and talented squad.

The Rossoneri will be hoping to close out the deal soon, with the transfer market closing in a little over a week.

  1. Well, that’s a turn of events. I don’t know anything about Lazetic but I think Milan made the right call on Pellegri. You can’t invest in a player who has been injured all his career.

I wish Pellegri all the best though, for himself and Azzurri’s sake.

  2. Can’t say I’m sad about Pellegri, but 1 goal in 17 matches doesn’t quite imply the next Vlahovic.

  3. @ Vero Rossonero

While it’s obviously very unlikely that he will ever be as good as Vlahovic, that’s an unfair comparison. Vlahovic joined Fiorentina at almost the same age with almost the same statistics.

  4. Have to be honest I’m a bit disappointed we are letting pellegri go, I think he just needs a stable environment and time, hope we end up regretting letting him go, as for lazetic he looks lively for a big lad but not sure it will help out the clubs ambition short term
