Milan have still not reached an agreement with Club Brugge for Charles De Ketelaere, as the two clubs are seemingly at an impasse.

Director Paolo Maldini flew to Belgium earlier this week for face-to-face negotiations, hoping they would be able to resolve the situation, confident the player was determined to join them at San Siro.

The final offer was €30m plus another €2m in performance-related bonuses and today was meant to be the deadline to accept or start looking elsewhere.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com, Club Brugge are still demanding €35m plus add-ons to release the midfielder.

The situation is now at an impasse and either Milan raise their bid once again or they have to consider other transfer targets.

It is increasingly unlikely that they will be able to reach an agreement after the intensive negotiations over the last few days.

Leeds United had been their biggest competition for De Ketelaere, reportedly offering €37m including bonuses, but they have since moved on, realising the player preferred Milan.

  1. That there would be nothing from the deal was clear a few days ago when they failed to agree in person in Belgium. Maybe there’s a grain of hope that Maldini could get 1 or 2 million out of Gazidis, and try one last time tonight or tomorrow.

  2. I don’t know why people without money to buy players keeps buying Milan and they want to compete with top European teams
    So sad

  3. Brugge want to sell, player wants Milan, Leeds have moved on (allegedly). Good chance this is done early next week.

  4. I hope this falls through, CDK is overrated, what Milan need is RW and LW to boost the attack , Milan should go for Lang and Ansencio

  5. I like that Milan are careful with their money but this transfer is starting to become a bit ridiculous. Their inital offer was too low. Your’e already willing to part with 30mil why not just bid 33 plus potential bonuses up to 37? Deal would have already been done. Now it’s getting to be stupid and they will get criticized if this falls through.

  6. For crying out loud! Just give Bruges what they want for the player and get this done already.

  7. CALMAAA!!!

At least Milan can rest easy knowing that no other Italian side (Juve) will hijack the deal, as Skywalker Max does not like young players. Only a Premier League side will pay over for him.
