Under the Chinese ownership, Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli pushed hard to sign the Argentine, but couldn’t agree a deal with his club.

Now calciomercato.com is reporting that Paredes remains on the shortlist for Paolo Maldini and Leonardo, who could look to a deal next summer.

Zenit won’t offer any discounts though, and would demand at least €30m to sell one of their prize assets.
