While Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United still try, it’s reported in France that LOSC defender Sven Botman will be going to Milan.

The negotiations have been in progress since January, with the Ligue 1 club refusing to make a sale during the mid-season window, but well aware they’d lose the centre-back in the summer.

Because the 22-year-old is Dutch and came up through the Ajax youth academy, there are reports in England that new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is trying to make a late bid for Botman.

It comes after months of Spurs and Newcastle pushing for the defender, who has a price-tag of €30m.

However, this evening Amazon Prime France and transfer expert Saber Desfarges are confident Botman should be heading towards San Siro to play for Milan next season.

The other important element the Rossoneri have over Manchester United is that they have qualified for the Champions League.

  1. Why are we still pursuing this guy after what Tomori and Kalulu have shown in the last few games?

We have four CBs: Tomori, Kalulu, Kjaer and Gabbia. All have done a good job when they played. Why should any one of those now be pushed out?

Sure if we had a team of Galácticos and every other position was sorted we might start to look at CBs but we have key weaknesses at CM, AM, RW and CF – all of which are very expensive roles to fill. I’d prefer to focus on the AM position as the key weakness and work slowly from there.
