Milan have Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Rafael Leao, Ante Rebic and Davide Calabria back in training ahead of the 2022 opener against Roma.

They will resume the Serie A season after the Christmas break by hosting Jose Mourinho’s Roma on January 6.

Stefano Pioli was struggling with a series of injury problems during the closing weeks of 2021 and the new year has started on a more promising note.

Ibrahimovic, Leao and Calabria are all back in full training today, while even Rebic managed part of the session this afternoon.

This suggests he too could be called up for the big match against Jose Mourinho’s men on Thursday.

Leao, Rebic and Calabria were all suffering from muscular issues, while Ibrahimovic had strained his left knee ahead of the win over Empoli.

Simon Kjaer is out for the rest of the season, while Fode Ballo-Toure, Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer are on Africa Cup of Nations duty.
