Rafael Leao, Olivier Giroud and Ismael Bennacer publicly congratulated Yacine Adli on his season debut against Cagliari on Wednesday.
The French midfielder started as a deep-lying playmaker, replacing the injured Rade Krunic in the middle of the pitch against the Rossoblu.
He was replaced after 58 minutes, but Italian sports papers positively judged the Frenchman. La Gazzetta dello Spor rated him 7/10, while Tuttosport and Il Corriere dello Sport gave him 6/10.
His season debut for the Rossoneri was convincing, even by looking at his teammates’ reactions. Bennacer, Leao and Giroud publicly praised Adli with Instagram stories the 23-year-old shared on his account.
“I am proud of you,” wrote Giroud in French; Bennacer added: “It’s your moment” and Leao commented on Adli’s performance with just one word: “Class.”
