Milan star Rafael Leao apologises to Juventus fans on Twitter after putting a Bianconeri shirt inside his shorts after a Serie A meeting on Sunday.

The Portuguese striker swapped shirts with a Juventus player after Milan’s 1-0 at the Allianz Stadium, but was targeted by Bianconeri fans on social media for putting the shirt inside his shorts while waving at fans.

Leao apologised on Twitter, writing: “If any fan felt disrespected for putting the shirt inside my shorts, I apologise, it was not my intention to convey any disrespect, on the contrary, I respect all institutions!! Forza Milan. The hate is real damn.”

Thanks to Sunday’s victory in Turin, Milan have qualified for the Champions League for the third season in a row.

Leao is expected to sign a contract extension with the Rossoneri in the coming days after agreeing to a new €7m-a-year deal until 2028.

The 23-year-old has 14 goals and 15 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions this season and his previous deal at San Siro was due to expire in June 2024. The Portuguese striker joined Milan from Ligue 1 side Lille in a €30m deal in 2019.
