Zlatan Ibrahimovic hopes to resume playing for Milan next month, but for now he’s growing his acting career with another movie appearance.
The 41-year-old had knee surgery in May and is expected to be back on the pitch by the end of January to help the Rossoneri defend their Serie A title and play in the Champions League Round of 16.
In the meantime, the Sweden international has been preparing for life after he hangs up his boots, having already been a television presenter at music festival San Remo and on Striscia La Notizia.
He also has a cameo in the new Asterix and Obelix movie as Roman soldier Antivirus.
Now Italian film legend Carlo Verdone has revealed that Ibrahimovic will play a part in his latest picture, although details remain sketchy.
“It is a working day like any other for us. But also a little special, because Zlatan Ibrahimovic landed in Milan to recite his pose.
“A lovely person with humility, generosity and professionalism. We met today for the first time and I am glad to say I have found a new friend that I hope to see again soon.
“Thanks again Zlatan for having accepted my invitation so eagerly. Not everyone would… I will forever be grateful. I wish you all the best.”
However, the friendship remains very much off the field, because Verdone is a well-known passionate Roma supporter, so won’t be cheering on Milan anytime soon.
