Barbara Berlusconi says Milan’s stadium plans are ‘a great project’, but won’t be drawn on rumours of a sale.

The joint-CEO, daughter of President Silvio, was speaking at an event to announce the Rossoneri’s new partnership with Audi and discussed the proposed new ground.

“We believe we’ve presented a great project,” Berlusconi said, with the plans currently being viewed by the city council.

“We’re awaiting a response from Fondazione Fiera. Soon we’ll meet with [Inter President Erick] Thohir to talk about San Siro ahead of [next year’s] Champions League final.

“We’re focused on the Portello area, and we haven’t considered other possibilities, although they do exist.

“We have so many goals, some of which – like Casa Milan – we have achieved, while others – such as the stadium – are very important.

“As soon as Fiera vote, we can start contacting companies who would work with us on this project.”

There have been heavy rumours in recent months that Berlusconi Sr. is looking to sell the club, and his daughter would not be drawn on those suggestions.

“I have signed a confidentiality agreement, so I apologise for not being able to answer that question.”
