The Milan squad stayed at San Siro to watch Cagliari–Inter before leaving after their rivals ended the first half 1-0 up.
The Rossoneri are now only one game away from securing their first Scudetto in a decade, the reward for the excellent work carried out by Stefano Pioli and Paolo Maldini over the last few years. They sit two points ahead of rivals Inter, so a draw in their final game of the season against Sassuolo would be enough to clinch the title, as they hold the head-to-head advantage.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Milan players were ready to celebrate at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza last night following their win over Atalanta and so they watched the first half of Cagliari-Inter from inside the ground.
The squad left after the conclusion of the first half; Inter went into the half-time break 1-0 up, so a win for Simone Inzaghi’s side seemed certain enough at that point.

As Yogi Berra used to say. “The game is never over, until it’s over”. Berrra knew a little about winning as he won 10 world series championships of Major League Baseball!
