Rumours from Italy suggest that Milan will officially announce Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s new contract with the club next week.

The 40-year-old Swedish forward is technically a free agent after his contract expired with the Rossoneri at the start of the month, but it’s been obvious for a little while now that he’ll put pen to paper on a new deal, despite having to undergo a serious knee operation.

As reported by TMW and other outlets, Ibrahimovic and Milan met today to finalise his new contract and the official announcement is expected at some point next week. His recent operation will keep him sidelined until January but he’s still a key figure in the Rossoneri squad.

Despite his age, Ibrahimovic still made an important contribution to Stefano Pioli’s team last campaign, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in 23 Serie A appearances. The Swedish veteran is also a key figure off the pitch, being an experienced reference point for the rest of the squad.

  1. nah, I think he still want to go on for a shot at winning the CL.
Which is slim if Milan still haven’t improved much at the mercato for their squad this season
