Milan have reportedly decided not to take up their €12m option to buy Aster Vranckx from Wolfsburg.

The 20-year-old midfielder spent this season on loan at San Siro, but made very little impact.

He was excluded from the Champions League squad, making only nine Serie A appearances and one in the Coppa Italia.

According to Tuttomercatoweb and Sacha Tavolieri in Belgium, Milan will not take up the €12m option to make the Vranckx transfer a permanent one.

He will return to Wolfsburg, who in turn are expected to seek a new club for the Belgium international.

The Rossoneri had quite a few Belgian players in the squad this season and with directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara now dismissed, it seems the new hierarchy at the club is eager to cut down that contingent.

This includes Divock Origi, Alexis Saelemaekers and statement signing Charles De Ketelaere, who are all on the market this summer.
