Milan may have to do without Junior Messias for their final game of the calendar year against Fiorentina.

The Rossoneri signed the 31-year-old Brazilian winger on a permanent deal from Crotone in the summer following his successful season on loan. In his debut season with Milan, Messias scored six goals and provided three assists in 32 games across all competitions, proving a useful and reliable rotation option.

As reported by Sky Sports Italia, Messias was forced to stop during Milan’s training session today in Milanello due to a suspected muscle issue. He will undergo a detailed round of tests tomorrow but there are fears that he could be sidelined for the upcoming game against Fiorentina on Sunday November 13.

Should the Brazilian be ruled out, Stefano Pioli seems torn between picking Rade Krunic or Charles De Ketelaere to replace him. The 21-year-old Belgian has not started in his last five outings and is keen to impress after a slow start to life in Lombardy.
