Milan are turning their attention back towards Palmeiras left-back Matias Viña after missing out in January.

The Rossoneri had already been in talks for the 22-year-old when he was at Nacional de Montevideo, but opted instead to bring Diego Laxalt back early from his Torino loan.

Palmeiras took advantage of the situation and snapped up Viña for €5.5m.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are now back in contention for the Uruguayan international, who has five senior caps to his name.

They want a suitable understudy to first choice Theo Hernandez, so don’t want to spend too much on Viña.

It could well end up being a loan deal with option to buy.
