Milan veteran Simon Kjaer returned to squad training today and two first team regulars have recovered from their recent bout of flu ahead of the clash with Lecce.

The Rossoneri have maintained their strong form under Stefano Pioli in recent months, winning their last four league games and losing just once in Serie A in 2024, taking the club to second in the table. Their resurgence has helped alleviate the pressure on the coach, who once seemed destined to depart.

Milan will face off against Daniele De Rossi’s Roma in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie next week, but beforehand Pioli’s side will host Lecce at San Siro. The Puglian outfit held the Giallorossi to a goalless draw on Monday.

Calciomercato.com highlighted how Kjaer returned to training with his teammates at Milanello today, putting him on track to join the Rossoneri squad for their upcoming clash with Lecce. Tommaso Pobega will have to wait a little longer, continuing his individual work.

Ismael Bennacer and Luka Jovic have both recovered from their recent bout of flu and will feature against the Puglian side, whilst Ruben Loftus-Cheek is unavailable through suspension.
