The stadium situation is increasingly in flux, as after the clubs and council decided to consider a new San Siro restructuring plan, it’s reported Milan offered to share the San Donato project with Inter.

The initial idea had been for the two clubs to work together in constructing a new stadium essentially in the car park of the current Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, which would mean knocking down the existing structure later.

That was rejected by the local and national authorities, who want San Siro protected, so they both broke off to create their own structures outside the city walls, with Milan in San Donato Milanese and Inter in Rozzano.

According to reports from news agency ANSA today, Milan chief Gerry Cardinale contacted Inter to ask if they wanted to work together on building their arena in San Donato, but the Nerazzurri replied that they were not interested.

That is not the end of the changes, because WeBuild have proposed a project that they claim would be able to restructure San Siro without preventing Inter and Milan from playing regularly in the stadium.

This was the biggest sticking point for the clubs, so it is reportedly being looked at by Inter, Milan and Mayor Beppe Sala.
