Milan are reported to have rejected an offer from Sevilla to take forward Andre Silva on loan.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Spanish club wanted to take the Portugal international on a season-long loan, but with no option or obligation to sign him permanently.

And despite the 22-year-old reportedly giving the green light to the move, the Italian daily states the Rossoneri dismissed the deal.

Gazzetta speculates the San Siro side’s decision could be down to one of two trails of thought.

On the one hand, Milan general manager Leonardo could be pushing to sell Silva on a permanent basis in a bid to bring in funds and make space on the club’s wage bill.

Alternatively, Coach Gennaro Gattuso may want to give the former Porto man a second chance to force his way into the Rossoneri’s long-term plans.

Silva scored 10 goals for Milan in his debut season in Italy, although only two of those were in Serie A.
