Milan have rejected Chelsea’s second bid of €40m [£34m] for Alessio Romagnoli, according to reports.
A first bid from the English side was rejected this week, and reports this morning indicated that a second offer had been received last night.
Due to the impending takeover by a Chinese group, the offer had to be discussed between the new ownership and current President Silvio Berlusconi.
According to Sky, the offer from Chelsea was €35m, plus another €5m in performance-related bonuses.
However, the bid was unanimously rejected, and the Rossoneri have now closed the door on any sale, meaning Romagnoli will stay at San Siro this summer.
