Good news for Milan and Stefano Pioli as Sandro Tonali reportedly completed the entirety of today’s squad training session following his recent injury.

The 22-year-old Italian midfielder suffered a muscle injury during a pre-season friendly against Vicenza, an issue which forced him to miss the Rossoneri’s season opener against Udinese. Tonali is a key figure in Pioli’s squad and the club initially feared that he could’ve been out for up to a month.

As highlighted by Gianluca Di Marzio, Tonali returned to the squad training session today in Milanello, taking part in everything except the final match. His return suggests that he’ll be fit enough to join the squad for their match against Atalanta on Sunday, although he’s unlikely to start.

Pioli started an anchoring midfield pair of Rade Krunic and Ismael Bennacer in the 4-2 win over Udinese and he could return to this set-up for the upcoming match, allowing Tonali to comfortably continue his recovery.
